DITA is pleased to unveil the latest addition to its highly-anticipated franchise of commemorative eyewear: Grandmaster-Six, an oversize aviator that pays tribute to the bombastic spirit of New York’s emerging hip-hop scene and the pioneering artists whose innovations in music and dance have electrified the world for nearly 40 years.
DITA’s design team summoned an unrivaled combination of aesthetic features and manufacturing techniques to evoke the iconic b-boy style of the late 1970s. Grandmaster-Six’s glistening gold titanium lens rims are gently chamfered at the edges and fasten to a hand-tooled 5-axis machined acetate front; the dramatically sculpted titanium brow bar conceals a lens hood detail, designed to provide maximum overhead sun protection. The intricately crafted temple, which pivots seamlessly on customized titanium plate hinges, features enamel detailing and DITA's signature diamond pressed design.
The resulting frame crackles with a jubilant uptown energy and debuts as a limited edition of 1000, with each unit bearing a unique, laser-etched numeric signature at the temple. Grandmaster-Six is available in two color ways: Black with Yellow Gold, and Matte Black with Rose Gold. The frame is assembled in Japan by the same artisans who pioneered many of precision manufacturing techniques routinely deployed in DITA’s unparalleled range of luxury eyewear.
